In Short,

Aspiring CPA and World Traveller.

And... a proud cat owner

I was born in Taiwan and at an early age, I moved to the Philippines with my family. Growing up in a foreign country with a different culture fostered a deep sense of curiosity in me from a young age. I am especially thankful for the many opportunities I have had in my life, and the chance to travel to over 22 countries around the world. I experienced the hospitality of the people from Egypt to the natural historical beauties of China. I have had the opportunity to backpack across Europe through various countries and cities where I was able to meet their people, enjoy their food, and ultimately develop a better understanding of their culture. Even now, I still have that sense of curiosity and my personal goal is to travel to 30 countries by 30.

One country that I was fortunate enough to visit and move to is the United States of America. I moved to the US for my first year of college to attend the University of California, Merced (UCM). While it was tough… it was a fascinating experience as well. Even though it was difficult at times, I understood that living in the United States was a pathway to developing a new perspective within another culture. I was able to learn new expressions, vocabulary, references, sports, history, food, and more. This learning process was complemented by my part-time job during college. Where I worked as a tour guide for four years and eventually rose to a student supervisor position for the admissions team at UCM. This position gave me the opportunity to meet and converse with people from different backgrounds such as potential students, parents, faculty, chancellors, and donors as well. Additionally, I spent much of my time training and leading a team of tour guides in order to better represent UCM to the world. This job along with my other internships and research experience has greatly prepared me for the next step of my journey.

Currently, I am a technical accounting consultant. I have long been interested in accounting because I enjoy being able to help companies ensure that their published statements are accurate. This accuracy would be attained whilst working closely alongside these businesses. In return, I not only have the opportunity to help others but to also gain insightful knowledge about various industries. I believe that my collaboration skills and multicultural perspective will allow me to facilitate communication with clients and other departments in an amiable and efficient manner. So it is not only numbers and Excel sheets brought to the table, but a friend as well.
